Frequently asked questions
- Is Kalkallo Concreting the business doing the work?
No. This site belongs to Yes Right Pty Ltd and only passes concreting enquiries on. An independent concreter gets your details and decides whether to quote. Price, pour date and workmanship are agreed between you and that concreter, not with this website.
- What concreting jobs can I enquire about?
Driveways in plain, coloured or exposed aggregate concrete, side and front paths, patio and alfresco slabs, garden shed slabs, and the council crossover between your boundary and the kerb. Structural house slabs and plumbing connections are outside this site's scope.
- Will a concreter turn up once I send the form?
Not automatically. Sending the form is an enquiry, not a booking. A concreter may ring to ask about size and access, ask for photos of the frontage, or come out to measure, and may also pass on the job. Nothing is locked in until you sign a written quote.
- Do I need council approval for a new driveway?
The part inside your boundary does not need a building permit, according to the Building and Plumbing Commission. The crossover in the road reserve needs council consent in Hume, Whittlesea and Mitchell Shire, and Hume and Whittlesea both require an inspection before the concrete is poured.
- What should I include so a concreter can quote?
Your suburb, the rough size of each area, the finish you want, and photos of the frontage, garage, side passages and any pits or downpipes. Mention any heavy vehicles, such as a caravan or truck, because they change the slab thickness.
- Which suburbs can I enquire from?
Kalkallo, Mickleham, Donnybrook, Beveridge and Craigieburn. Whether a particular provider will travel to your street depends on that provider.
